Doncella Mumolo,
Site Leader, LMFT
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience. I obtained my master’s degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy. My early career involved working with underserved populations in a nonprofit setting which served children, adolescents and adults in the clinic, school, and home-based settings. I provided individual, family and group treatment for these individuals. I have worked with individuals involved in multiple systems, school, probation, DCFS and DPSS. I have been trained in evidence-based practices, MAP (Managing and Adapting Practices), Family Therapy, and Trauma Focused CBT. I have been trained in play therapy to support my younger clients. I have worked with high-risk client populations who have been hospitalized or are at risk of hospitalization.
I have worked collaboratively on a team along with case managers, psychiatrists, rehabilitation specialists and therapeutic behavioral specialists. I have managed teams of clinicians, paraprofessionals, supervisors, and managers for over 20 years. I have worked in group practices for 20 years in person and remotely. I have experience working with chronic depression, anxiety, phase of life issues, trauma, ADHD, bullying and parenting issues. My approach is to create a safe place for clients and their families so that they can trust me to be their guide on their journey to recovery. I provide a skill-based approach and request that my clients practice tools outside of session. My goal is to ensure that my clients have the tools and support within their community to maintain the progress made in treatment.
