Francesco Pisano, M.A.
Hello and thank you for visiting Gunn Psychological Services of California. My name is Francesco Pisano. I was born and raised in Italy where I received my Bachelor of Science in Clinician Psychology from the University of Rome “La Sapienza.”
After moving to the United States, I later obtained a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My experience includes working in school settings, with the Department of Family services providing mental health assessment and case management, community mental health with minorities providing individual, group, family, couples therapy in English and Spanish. I have also worked with adults and older adults with high needs in a hospital setting. Furthermore, I have received extensive training in working with the 0-5 population.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and (through the DMH of California) Child Parent Psychotherapy (0-5 years old). From UC Davis, I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with children from 2 - 7 years of age. Also from UC Davis, I am trained in the interventions Seeking Safety and Trauma-Focused CBT. I work collaboratively with clients to make sure that all the needs are met, keeping in consideration their cultural diversity, and Intergenerational/Systemic trauma using a trauma informed/attachment approach. I am a firm believer in the use of therapy as an instrument of change for the individual and the society as a system. I currently maintain a license in both Arizona and California as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
