Hanna Kim, M.A.
Contract Therapist

I am a multilingual, culturally competent licensed marriage and family therapist with over 10 years of experience in the behavioral health field.  As a first-generation immigrant, I was instilled with the values of education and perseverance through many obstacles.  I graduated from Los Angeles City College Magna Cum Laude with an A. A. degree in Liberal Arts, UCLA with a B.A. degree in Psychology with a minor in Asian American Studies, and Azusa Pacific University with a M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.  I had the support of those who believed in my capabilities. From conducting cognitive behavioral therapy interventions with victims of crime, sexual assault, and domestic violence to providing field-based and Telehealth mental health services to diverse clients and families of multiethnic and racial communities, I was determined to steadily gain the experience to be of service in our community.  I attended a workshop on Prolonged Exposure to treat PTSD to help veterans and sexual assault victims live free from extreme fear.  I am certified in evidence-based treatments such as Individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Depression, Anxiety and Trauma, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  Three years after becoming licensed, I was afforded the opportunity to provide clinical supervision to associates to reach their professional development goals.  It was through our collaborative efforts that we were entrusted with providing intensive services during the COVID-19 crisis.  I am grateful to those who paved the way for us to empower our community. In my spare time, I enjoy going for hikes and being in nature.
