RR

Hello!!! My name is ReShawnda Richardson. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles in 2009, but I’ve been serving in the mental health community for over 15 years. I have over 15 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings including community based-programs, residential treatment and correctional facilities, structured outpatient programs, large non-profits, college campuses, as well as in the private practice sector. I take a collaborative approach when working with my clients; as evidenced by identifying challenges, strengths, and goals at it pertains to their mental health and quality of life. It’s the thrill of the process in creating a safe and self-explorative space to ensure that my clients can have endure the best possible experience.

In addition to my clinical background, I earned my bachelor’s degree at California State University Northridge (CSUN); and was a 3-year letter-winner as a member of the CSUN and University of Utah ‘s Women’s Basketball programs.  While competing at the collegiate level, I was afforded the opportunity to compete abroad while representing the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Women’s National Team. Following a successful collegiate career, I pursued a short-lived professional basketball career with the Portland Fire at the time of their existence within the WNBA. I take great pride in the process to excel at an elite level; the same discipline, dedication, and commitment it took to compete in both collegiate and professional arenas, I bring the same professionalism, energy, passion, and work ethic when providing mental health care to my clients. I have also transitioned those skills and same passion by becoming the co-founder of an education based non-profit organization that serviced student-athletes ages from 8-23 in the greater Sacramento area for 8 years.

I have a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals and groups in the following areas:

  • Depression
  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Trauma and Chronic PTSD
